**STEEPED IN HISTORY, in the same family for 200 years, CHARMING and ATMOSPHERIC , a WONDERFUL FAMILY HOME or FABULOUS GUEST HOUSE** Farm Cottage has previously been run as a five bedroom guest house in this scenic and popular part of Northumberland being close to historic buildings and places of outstanding natural beauty. The guest house was run successfully until two years ago when our clients decided to just sit back and enjoy their retirement. Farm Cottage could easily be run again as a guest house whilst at the same time providing spacious accommodation for the owners or its versatile accommodation would make it a wonderful home for either a young family, a family with teenagers or it could easily be rearranged to provide a granny flat. To say Farm Cottage is deceptively spacious is an understatement. Anyone viewing Farm Cottage from the road would never believe the size, spaciousness and labyrinth of corridors and rooms that abound throughout the house, not to mention sweeping drive, the en suite bedroom annexe, detached Summerhouse and garden and patio areas. Entrance to the house is into hallway spacious enough to accommodate seating and off which are doors leading to living room and comfy snug which has an open staircase to the first floor. A beamed ceiling, plate racks and a fine stone fireplace are all features of the traditional cottage living room which leads through into the fabulous kitchen and dining room area. The dining area is a glorious mix of stone walls, and wooden beams with light streaming in from the conservatory style roof and patio doors out into the drive and garden. A delightful blend of modern and traditional pine units give the kitchen a very cottagey feel and working surfaces and places for appliances are in abundance. A door leads out into the rear patio and garden area and the utility room and w.c. can also be accessed from the kitchen and dining room. From the kitchen a quirky bending corridor leads to three ground floor double bedrooms and the family bathroom. All three bedrooms are feature lovely cottage style décor and are en suite with two of the bedrooms sharing the jack and jill bathroom. This area of the house is divided by stud walls and our client had considered converting this into a separate granny flat which could easily be made self contained from the main part of the property. This option adds to the versatility of Farm Cottage and its potential use. The open staircase from the snug leads to the two en suite first floor bedrooms and single bedroom which could be used as a study or home office. Externally the property has an attached en suite bedroom annexe, a fine slate roofed and stone walled Summerhouse with a raised patio area, and a greenhouse. The gardens to the front and rear and the extensive external space make this a great place for summer entertaining or for guests should Farm Cottage be used again as a bed and breakfast. The extensive gravel drive has parking for numerous cars. Farm Cottage is a truly a property that really does need to be viewed to fully appreciate the high standard, spaciousness and historic atmosphere of the accommodation on offer.
